AI aimed at a tile
A store icon is a constrained drawing, not a general image
General image tools are trained to make pictures: lighting, scenery, texture, captions. An app icon is the opposite problem. It needs one shape, a flat-enough silhouette, padding for a mask, and a square canvas. A beautiful scene with your app’s name across it will fail the first time iOS rounds the corners.
An AI app icon generator should take those constraints on for you. In IconCreator you pick a style and describe the product. You do not write a paragraph of camera and lighting instructions. The run returns a set of square directions from the same brief, so you can reject the ones that smuggled in detail.
If you already have a tile from another tool, the checker, previewer, and resizer can tell you whether it survives the mask and can cut the platform sizes.
- 01
Describe the product, not the render
Name, audience, and the one object or letter the icon should be. “A calm finance app, a single coin, geometric” is a brief. “Octane render, cinematic rim light, ultra detailed” is how you get a poster.
- 02
Reject scenery and captions
Backgrounds with horizons, hands, and sentences of text are pictures. They look impressive in the grid and collapse on a home screen. Keep the directions whose idea you can still name at a glance.
- 03
Change one variable
If the first set misses, switch the style or rewrite one line of the brief. Keep the product description stable so the second set is a revision, not a new brand.
- 04
Export the master, then the pack
Take the SVG or the 1024 PNG you would actually ship. The resizer produces the Apple, Android, and PWA sizes from that file. Generating each size as a separate image makes them drift apart.
A brief that works
Four lines are enough
Paste this shape into the product when it opens, or use it to judge a set you generate elsewhere.
Product
What it does, in one clause. “Splits a restaurant bill” is more useful than a category word like “fintech.”
Audience
Who holds the phone. A tool for children and a tool for traders should not share a tone, even if both could be a geometric icon.
Object
One noun. Cup, key, letter M, folded map. If you list three nouns, the model will try to draw all of them.
Avoid
Name the cliché. Gradients that hide the shape, mockup frames, and the word “app” written on the tile are the usual ones.
AI app icon questions
How is an AI app icon generator different from ChatGPT image tools?
IconCreator is preset-driven and tuned for square store tiles — not free-form art prompts that ignore safe zones.
Can I iterate after the first batch?
Yes. Tweak vibe words or switch styles and generate another set of ten.
Are results unique to my brand?
Generation is anchored on your app name and brief, so outputs stay tied to your product story.
What files can I download?
SVG for designers and PNG masters suitable for store submission workflows.
How do I start?
Open the app icon studio, pick a style and generate. Your first creation is free. Already have a file? The free tools can check and resize it.
