How to Add a Favicon in Shopify
Short answer
In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Edit theme → Theme settings (gear icon) → Logo or Favicon, select the image, then Save. Shopify shrinks it to 32×32. You need the Basic plan or higher.

- 01From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store.
- 02Click Edit theme.
- 03Click the gear icon to open Theme settings.
- 04Click Logo or Favicon, depending on your theme.
- 05Under Favicon image, click Select image, choose it, click Done.
- 06Click Save.

What size is the Shopify favicon?
Shopify recommends 16×16 or 32×32 and reduces bigger images to 32×32.
Why isn't my favicon on checkout?
Checkout and customer accounts don't use the theme favicon unless you're on Shopify Plus.
Why doesn't my new favicon show in Google yet?
Google picks it up when it recrawls your home page, which can take several days to several weeks. It isn't guaranteed to show.
